It’s not the end of the world.

February 13th, 2007

A damn fine Judy Blume novel and one of my New Year’s Resolutions.

Nothing’s the end of the world except the end of the world.

Accept it and move on.

In general, I think I’ve kept it. It hasn’t been too hard. Generally, life is less annoying in LA than in Miami (Disclaimer: so far — as long as you don’t count pedestrians and wimpy, non-commital raindrops)

I read somewhere that truly happy people are the ones who can prioritize their problems, i.e. annoying pedestrian cuts in front of your car — let it slide; death in the family — time to scream.

I’ve had problems with that before. I remember times when my whole day would be ruined because someone gave me a bad drive. (you will notice that driving issues are a recurring theme in my life)

But this is the new and improved me who doesn’t sweat the small stuff.

So if you see me using my blog as nothing but a rant forum, please do keep me in check, and remind me that the world hasn’t ended just yet.

This probably doesn’t help but -

    1) I’ve said to myself that one day I would have to stop driving when I know I am one step away from physically expressing myself to another ‘driver’.

    2) Over the years leading up to now, I am at a point where I don’t hesitate to use language in an attempt to belittle people in other cars when I deem them hazardous and inconsiderate. Expressive language. VERY expressive. It’d make you all look straight and go silent.

    3) I am not sure if I have qualms about this. I don’t normally.

    4) The only thing constructive I can offer, is this :- where you are probably has alot more road discipline than where I am.
